Install and configure new SQL Servers for SQL versions 2008-2016, as well as maintain and troubleshoot SQL versions 2000-2005. Support and implement SQL Clusters and Always on Availability Groups (AAGs). Work with Application Analysts and vendors on issues and new projects. Setup test and dev environments as required. Assign permissions as needed following least privileged principles. Document changes to the SQL environment. Monitor SQL environment via monitoring tools, configure these tools to minimize false positives. Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors after being reviewed. Ensure database servers are backed up in a way that meets the organizations RPO and RTO.
